Nicaragua, 2010

During the summer of 2010, I traveled to Nicaragua with the Health and Exercise Science Department at Wake Forest University to observe two non-governmental organizations and their approaches to addressing health care needs of underserved communities. This formidable trip taught me the value of empowering communities through education and advocating for equitable access to healthcare.
